The 2009 Sun City Carnival Tour was again the biggest tour in country music, and the 6th biggest in all of music according to Pollstar. Chesney sold over 1 million tickets with $70 million in sales.
He played 59 shows, including several stadiums where the Summer In 3D movie was filmed. But before the main tour got underway, Chesney started with a “Keg Tour” in March hitting a few spring break spots in the southeast. Joining Kenny on tour in 2009 were Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert. At the stadium shows, Sugarland and Montgomery Gentry were also openers. |
