Feeling a little bit country, Sony Pictures
said Sunday that it will bring popular
performer Kenny Chesney to movie theaters
in April in a limited-engagement concert
film, "Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D."

Director Joe Thomas shot footage
during Chesney's recently concluded
Sun City Carnival concert tour. Over
6 nights in 5 locations, he employed
22 3D camera rigs, including systems
from 3ality Digital, which were outfitted
with Sony 1500-series professional
digital cameras.

The film will be released through Sony's
new business unit, the Hot Ticket, set
up to bring cultural and entertainment
events to digital theaters.

"If you're a diehard Kenny Chesney fan
who just couldn't get close enough this
past summer, or even if you did and want to
live those songs and fun again, even closer,
'Kenney Chesney: Summer in 3D' is the
perfect way to experience the intensity
even closer than the front row,"
Sony worldwide distribution
president Rory Bruer said.

"It was an amazing -- and at times scary --
experience to have cameras that close,
in the air, in a blimp," Chesney said. "But
when you see what this film captures ...
even for me, who's in the eye of the
storm, I was taken aback."

I remember signs from the Philly concert that said something to the effect that they were filming it.

At Gillette this big camear would go real real slow up and down a section of the audience. It was strange! I don;t think too many people noticed it but I thought it was for the 3d movie. And when the big 3d camera was on that section Kenny was getting them all agitated from the stage to promote a great on camera reaction I guess! I can't wait to see it! He'll probably make more not touring this year! LOL! From the movie and DVD's. Less work and more profit! Way to go with your Marketing degree, Kenny!

Kenny's official site says it was filmed in Pittsburgh, Philly, Boston, Seattle and Indianapolis!

So maybe you'll see Seth, me or Kay! :lol:

If you recall, I posted back in August about a 3D video being shown in theaters :D
