Anybody hear at Robert Earl Keen fan, or listened to any of his music. I've recently been getting more into his work, and for anyone who hasn't listened to him, he's freakin incredible. He's kind of country, folk, and rock all rolled into one, and he's one of the best musical story tellers I've ever heard. If you want to give him a listen, he has a new CD called "Rose Hotel" and it's phenominal. The two best songs are "Throwin Rocks" and "Man Behind the Drums."

Other great songs to check out:

The Road Goes on Forever (And the Party Never Ends)- his biggest hit
Corpus Christi Bay
Shades of Grey (about the Oklahoma City bombing)
Amarillo Highway

That's just a few, but that just scratches the surface of his catalouge he's amassed over the last 25+ years :yay:

I'll look into him. I've seen his name before (I think maybe over at BuffettWorld).

Yea, look into him and give some of the songs a listen, and I gaurantee you'll like his music. He has a really gruff voice, but it suits him well. He only plays very small venues, and his tickets are dirt cheap compared to the big acts, but he's so good, and his band is awesome. I'm actually very surprised Jimmy hasn't ever covered any of his songs, especially Corpus Christi Bay, which sounds like an early 70's Buffett song.

Let me know what you think :yay:
