January

• The New Year got off to a great start for fans as Kenny Chesney announced over 40 Goin’ Coastal tour dates
• Kenny Chesney logged his 21st number one hit when “Somewhere With You” topped the Billboard charts
• After the first Gillette Stadium show sold out in 8 minutes, Kenny added a second show at the NFL venue

February

• Chesney earns five ACM nominations
• The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame names Kenny the Tennessean of the Year
• “Live a Little” is released as the next single



• Chesney produces and releases another football documentary, this one on Condredge Holloway. Kenny premiers the film in Knoxville and makes appearances on ESPN to promote it
• Kenny joins Jimmy Buffett in Palm Beach, Florida at a fundraiser for the Everglades

March

• In a partnership with Costa Del Mar, Kenny launches his own sunglass line
• The Goin’ Coastal Tour kicks off in West Palm Beach, Florida on March 17th
• While on tour in Florida, Kenny visited the Phillies at Spring Training
• On March 26th, Kenny celebrated his 43rd birthday

April

• Chesney earns a Billboard Music Award nomination for Top Country Artist
• “Live a Little” hits number one, giving Kenny his 22nd number one hit
• The CMT Music Awards nominates Kenny in two categories: Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year for “The Boys of Fall”

May

• After Tuscaloosa, AL is hit by a tornado, Kenny donates the proceeds of his May 25th show there to the relief efforts
• Country legend George Jones stuns Kenny when he comes out on stage during his Lexington show
• Chesney makes a surprise appearance at Jimmy Buffett’s Nashville show

June

• “You and Tequila” is released to radio and the official music video hits the airwaves
• At the annual Billboard summit, Kenny sits for a Q&A
• Kenny performs on the Today Show. Grace Potter joins him on “You and Tequila”

July

• Kenny’s health and fitness is profiled in Men’s Health
• Bret Michaels joins Kenny on stage at his Cincinnati show
• Chesney plays three shows at Red Rocks Amphithteater outside of Denver
• The theme song for the new ESPN series “Rise Up” is penned by Kenny
• While in town to play a show at the Meadowlands, Kenny drops in on the Jets training camp
• At a Grace Potter show in Vermont, Kenny makes a surprise appearance
• Hurricane Irene forces Kenny to move his second Gillette Stadium show from Sunday to Friday
• While in Boston, Kenny visits the Boston College football team

September

• The Country Music Association nominates Kenny in three categories
• Kenny makes a surprise appearance at another Grace Potter show… this one at the Ryman
• A few days later, Kenny makes a surprise appearance at Taylor Swift’s Nashville show

October

• “There Goes My Life” is featured in a State Farm commercial
• Kenny releases “Reality” as his next single
• Chesney is one of the performs at the Bill Clinton Foundation: Decade of Difference Concert

November

• Kenny and Grace Potter take home the CMA Award for Music Video of the Year
• Chesney wins Top Package at Billboard Touring Awards
• The 2012 Brothers of the Sun Tour is announced, featuring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw at stadiums across the country
• Chesney is honored as a CMT Artist of the Year

• Kenny and Grace earn two Grammy nods for “You and Tequila”

• Kenny (and Jimmy Buffett) attend the Saints – Vikings NFC Championship game. They sat in the press box
• In late January, we saw the first hints that a Kenny Chesney iPhone app was coming

February

• No Shoes Radio debuted “Ain’t Back Yet” in early February
• Chesney attends the Super Bowl in Miami and performs at the Saints post-game celebration
• Greatest Hits II is reissued with two additional tracks
• A grassroots campaign begins to brew for Kenny to be the 2011 Super Bowl halftime entertainment
• On February 22nd, the official Kenny Chesney iPhone app was released

March

• Kenny Chesney and Steve Miller tape an episode of CMT Crossroads at the Ryman Auditorium



• Chesney plays his first show of the year at Rodeo Houston on March 4th
• Music video for “Ain’t Back Yet” debuted
• On March 26th, Kenny celebrated his 42nd birthday

April

• Kenny begins to make the media rounds to promote his Summer in 3D movie. On April 9th he appeared on Oprah
• Chesney writes a heartfelt letter to his hometown
• In mid-April, Kenny premiered Summer in 3D in Knoxville, Tennessee, near where he grew up
• On April 15th, Kenny appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno
• The day after the ACM Awards in Las Vegas, Kenny joined several other stars in a tribute to the retiring Brooks & Dunn
• Kenny Chesney’s ‘Summer in 3D’ movie hit theaters on April 21st

May

• Historic floods hit Nashville and Kenny loses many personal effects
• Kenny appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 to talk about the floods
• Making more media appearances, Kenny takes the Weather Channel on a short tour of his flooded property. Watch video
• In early May we launched Kenny Chesney World 2.0, completely revamping the site to how it looks today
• No Shoes Radio airs live broadcast to raise money for flood relief
• Kenny plays the first of two shows in Las Vegas, and NSR airs the full concert
• Chesney attends the Dick Vitale Charity Gala in Florida

June

• The Blue Chair Bay online store opens for business
• Chesney named #8 on Billboard’s list of top 25 country acts of the past 25 years
• NSR airs live a great songwriters tribute to Kenny
• Kenny was scheduled to join Jimmy Buffett at Gulf Coast concert but had to cancel after the date was changed

July

• Chesney plays another two shows at The Joint in Las Vegas. He again airs the first night show on NSR
• CMT Crossroads episode with Kenny and Steve Miller debuts on July 9th



• “The Boys of Fall” is released as Kenny’s next single
• Kenny presents the Best Team award at the ESPY’s

August

• “The Boys of Fall” music video debuts on August 2nd
• Chesney announces in late August that he’ll do a full tour in 2011, playing “60-ish” shows
• Kenny makes a surprise visit to Gibbs High School, his alma mater, where he talks to the football team and shows them his documentary
• On August 29th, The Boys of Fall documentary debuted on ESPN

September

• No Shoes Radio airs the premiere of Kenny’s new album ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey
• Kenny makes several media appearances to promote the new album, including CMT Top 20 Countdown, Good Morning America, and multiple ESPN shows



• On September 24th, Kenny made a surprise appearance at a pep rally at Celina High School in Texas. Celina was one of the schools featured in The Boys of Fall
• Kenny’s latest album ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey’ hit stores on September 28th
• “The Boys of Fall” hits number one on the singles chart, giving Kenny his 20th number one
• CMT “Invitation Only” debuts, with Kenny performing some songs from his new album for the first time

October

• Kenny performs at Farm Aid in Milwaukee



• Kenny continues his media rounds with appearances on The Tonight Show and the Ellen DeGeneres show
• ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey’ debuts at number one on the Billboard 200 with sales of 182,000
• In mid-October, Kenny filmed scenes in Maine for the music video to “Seven Days”
• “Somewhere With You” is released to country radio
• At the end of October, Kenny joined Grace Potter on stage at the Ryman to perform their duet “You and Tequila”

November

• Lambeau Field is announced as the first Chesney stadium tour date of 2011
• A day after the Lambeau announcement the full stadium schedule is released
• ‘The Boys of Fall’ documentary DVD is released to stores
• Kenny performs at the CMA Awards but does not win any awards
• Chesney announces that he’ll donate 10,000 copies of The Boys of Fall documentary to high schools around the country

December

• Kenny lands on several of Billboard’s year end charts
• Several amphitheater shows begin to trickle out
• “The Boys of Fall” single is certified Gold

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from 2009:

Sun City Carnival Tour

• Chesney has the 6th biggest tour of the year, selling $71.1 million tickets according to Pollstar
• Over 1 million tickets sold again this year
• 59 concerts held, including several NFL stadiums
• In March, Kenny played several “Keg” shows at small venues in Panana City, Tuscaloosa, Key West, and Nashville to gear up for the main tour
• Several celebrities were in attendance at the Key West show including New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
• The Frisco, TX concert on May 2nd was canceled mid-show due to severe thunderstorms. Kenny played a makeup show on May 17th and personally picked up the tab
• The CMA Music Festival at LP Field in Nashville closed out with a midnight performance by Kenny on June 14th
• On September 15th, Kenny announced that he would not do a major tour in 2010

Awards & Nominations

• Chesney was nominated for his first ever Grammy, but doesn’t win. His performance of “Better As A Memory” is also his first Grammy performance
• Though nominated several times, Kenny went home empty-handed from the ACM, CMA, and CMT Awards
• In November, Chesney wins Top Tour Package award at the Billboard Touring Awards

Albums, Singles, Charts

• Kenny and Mac McAnally take “Down The Road” to number one in mid-February
• Greatest Hits II was released on May 19th and debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200
• “Out Last Night” hit number one in mid-June. It was Kenny’s 19th number one
• A new song entitled “This Is Our Time” is used during ESPN’s College Gameday

Television

• Kenny starred in a commercial for Corona. Watch the video
• On April 14th, Kenny appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show along with other country stars
• To help promote Greatest Hits II, Kenny appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman on May 19th. Watch the video
• Kenny performed on Good Morning America on August 14th. Watch the video
• Kenny’s “Austin City Limits” episode debuts on October 17th. Watch the episode
• Dave Matthews joined Kenny Chesney at the CMA Awards in November to perform their duet “I’m Alive”. Watch the video

• In a Playboy interview in Februay, Kenny opens up about his personal life
• Kenny received a key to the Playboy Club in Las Vegas in April
• On March 26th Kenny turned 41 years old
• In December, Kenny attended the Hollywood premiere of “Invictus”

Other

• No Shoes Radio re-launched as an internet radio station on August 6th with a live broadcast of the Orange Beach, AL show
• Kenny launched his own clothing line on September 1st: Blue Chair Bay

• Chesney turned 40 in March, and many celebs attended his birthday party in Nashville, including Roger Clemens, Junior Seau, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Jennifer Nettles, Dierks Bentley, and Kix Brooks
• Joins the board of Plan!t Now
• In November it was reported that Chesney has been dating former Miss Tennessee Amy Colley for a few months
• In multiple interviews, Chesney opened up about his marriage and annulment from Renee Zellweger

Sports

• In July, Chesney threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park before the Red Sox – Yankees game
• Also in July, Chesney visited the White House and sang the national anthem at the first ever White House Tee Ball All Star Game
• In August, the New Orleans Saints invited Chesney to practice with them for a day at training camp
• In October, Chesney appeared on ESPN’s College Gameday at Vanderbilt in Nashville

Other

• No Shoes Radio launches on XM Satellite Radio in July
• In September, it was reported that Chesney was developing his own rum
