Kenny Chesney was in Las Vegas on Sunday night for the ACM Awards where he performed his latest single “Noise.”

Chesney strode the stage, addressing the audience from all angles, clad in a simple gray T-shirt, jeans and a black cowboy hat, putting to use the stage skills he has honed over the years as one of the perennial top concert draws in country music.
The song is the lead single from Chesney’s upcoming studio album Some Town Somewhere, which is set for release in July. It’s his first-ever stab at social relevance in a song, taking on the cable news cycle, cell phones and social media’s white noise, with a lyric about the importance of being able to unplug the noise and tap into what’s really important.

If you watched the CMA Awards last night, you may have seen Kenny Chesney not only during the show, but also during a commercial break:

Apple ran a new, minute-long Apple Music commercial during last night’s Country Music Association Awards, featuring hit country music singer-songwriter Kenny Chesney.

In the ad – filmed this summer at his concert at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro MA, home of the super bowl champions New England Patriots – Chesney focuses on the human curation offered by Apple Music.

We need a place where music is treated with real reverence and respect, a place that’s got a human element, a human touch […] great songs recommended to me by people who live it …
