The 44th annual CMA Awards were held Wednesday night in Nashville and after taking the year off from major touring, Kenny Chesney was only up for one award: Musical Event of the Year. The trophy ended up going to Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins for “Hillbilly Bone.”

Tonight is country music’s biggest night! It’s the 44th annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards show live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

You’ll want to tune in as Kenny Chesney is scheduled to perform. Other artists that will perform include Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, and The Zac Brown Band singing together with Alan Jackson.

Kenny Chesney is up for one award: Musical Event of the Year for “I’m Alive” with Dave Matthews. They face off against Dierks Bentley with Miranda Lambert & Jamey Johnson’s “Bad Angel”, Zac Brown Band and Kid Rock’s “Can’t You See”, Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins’ “Hillbilly Bone”, and Alan Jackson and Lee Ann Womack’s “Til The End.”

The CMA Awards will air at 8:00 pm ET on the ABC Television Network.

Continuing his media rounds, Kenny Chesney was in New York City this morning to appear on Good Morning America. Robin Roberts interviewed Kenny (watch) and then performed “The Boys of Fall”:

Kenny Chesney, whose new album ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey’ (BNA Records) is out September 28th, will spend the entire day Monday, September 27th at ESPN’s studios in Bristol, CT. He’ll primarily be talking about football, the inspiration for his “Boys of Fall” documentary about the passion of football and life lessons learned on the field.

The ‘Boys of Fall,’ documentary debuted on ESPN in August and airs again on ESPN 2 on Monday, Sept 27 at 7:00 pm ET. Chesney recently told the Associated Press that making the film “ended up being one of the best journeys of my life, and I think one of the most important things I’ve done in my career to this point.” His hit single, “The Boys of Fall,” is nearing the top of singles chart.

At ESPN, Chesney will appear live on SportsCenter, Sports Nation, ESPNU, and many other shows, will tape appearances on NFL Live and CFB Live, and will do a live chat on ESPN.com. He’s always happy to talk football because, he says, “Growing up in East Tennessee, football was a way of life. In Knoxville, at the University of Tennessee, the whole town just wraps its arms around them.”

Chesney, a wide receiver in high school who is now country music’s top-drawing live act and still a Volunteers fan, says, “That’s where I first learned how to work really hard – on the football field.”

Earlier today it was CMT’s Top 20 Countdown, and tonight Kenny Chesney will join Nan Kelley on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown.

Kenny Chesney continues his media blitz ahead of his Tuesday album release with an appearance on CMT’s Top 20 Countdown with Evan Farmer.

They’ll talk about the new album Hemingway’s Whiskey and show a clip from Kenny’s upcoming Invitation Only episode.

Catch the debut Friday at 11:00 am ET/PT. It will also air over the weekend at 11:00 am on Saturday and 11:30 am Sunday.

Starting next week, Kenny Chesney will be making the rounds on TV to promote his latest album, Hemingway’s Whiskey.

He’ll make the previously announced appearance on Good Morning America Tuesday, then head to Los Angeles at the end of the week for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday, October 1st and the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, October 4th.

You’ll also be able to see Kenny on CMT this Monday for “Invitation Only.”

Hemingway’s Whiskey, the new album from Kenny Chesney, will be released Tuesday, September 28th and Kenny will start the day off with an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America.
