Chesney Rocks Heinz Field in Pittsburgh

Kenny Chesney played a rockin’ show Saturday night at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fans tailgated in the parking lot and on the river before the show, and Chesney even came out onto one of the boats docked on the Ohio River and played a couple songs (read about it here).

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has a review of the show: “Kenny Chesney roars at Heinz Field”

Kenny Chesney opted for a grand entrance out of a tent in the middle of Heinz Field. The country superstar floated over the crowd suspended in a chair — much to the delight of the crowd. The perfect, summer-like weather was punctuated by a nearly full moon, while the echoes of carefree living rang out from the stage in a power set of top hits that included “Summertime,” “Beer In Mexico” and “Keg in the Closet.”

Review of Des Moines Show

Kenny Chesney brought his Sun City Carnival Tour to the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday night and played to a packed house. Dallas Clark of the Indianapolis Colts was in attendance at the show and helped Kenny sing “Back Where I Come From”.

Kyle Munson of The Des Moines Register has a review of the show: “Chesney rocks the Well”

For his part, Chesney entered the arena in his classic style, raised via cables from the back of the arena floor to glide above the audience and alight on stage — this time to the tune of his first signature hit, “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.”

He’s vying with Paul Stanley of Kiss for time spent in the air in arenas.

Chesney also brought his own rock-worthy firepower: a 12-piece backing band, including four horns. And the second tune he unleashed, “Live Those Songs Again,” was his love letter to 1960s and ‘70s classic rock.

Help Us Build A Chesney Set List Archive

We at ChesneyWorld are looking to add another resource… a Set List Archive. But to do it we need your help! We can’t attend every show so we need you to be the eyes and ears and report back to us.

Take a look at what we have so far for this year’s tour: 2009 Sun City Carnival Tour Set Lists

If you attended a show already this year and can help us fill in the blanks we would appreciate that. Also if you are attending an upcoming show this year we would be grateful if you could provide the set list for us. A good way to do this is glance at the set lists from previous shows and then report any differences you see. The set list has been fairly standard this year, but Kenny has been making some changes show-to-show like sometimes opening with “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” and at other shows opening with “Live Those Songs”. Other possible changes are in the ballads section of the set and the encore.

If you have a set list to submit or a correction to one we’ve already posted, please e-mail us. Thanks!
