Kenny Chesney’s record for the biggest amount of opening-week downloads by a male Country artist has been bested…. by Kenny Chesney.

His new single “The Boys of Fall” scored 82,000 downloads its debut week, which outpaced the previous record of 71,000 for “Out Last Night.”

On Tuesday, August 3rd you’ll be able to purchase and download Kenny Chesney’s latest single “The Boys of Fall” through iTunes, Amazon MP3 and other digital music outlets.

Kenny Chesney teased it earlier from his Twitter and Facebook accounts, and it hit the app store on Sunday evening, rather than Monday. (We first reported on the app back in January)

We reported on it last month, and now the wait is nearly over. On Monday, Kenny Chesney will release his own official iPhone/iTouch app for free through the Apple iTunes App Store.

“The sun and the sand in the palm of your hand” is the phrase posted on a teaser image here. It was sent out Sunday afternoon on Kenny’s Twitter and Facebook.

This promises to be a very rich app. Looking at the pictures, it will include the ability to play No Shoes Radio, information on the tour and ticket sales, an online store, media, and news.

The image also shows a “connect” option with the Twitter symbol, and since tweets have been sent from the app, there will apparently be built-in support for tweeting straight from the app.

Last summer the makers of the Rock Band video game series released Country Track Pack. The addon featured 21 country songs including “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.”

If you opted not to get the Track Pack you will be able to download “Tractor” separately starting on Tuesday.

All six tracks will be available either individually for $1.99 (160 Microsoft points; 200 Wii Points) or in a bundle for $9.99 (800 Microsoft points). Look for the “Going Country 03″ six-pack next Tuesday, February 2 on Xbox 360 and Wii, with the PlayStation 3 downloads hitting that Thursday, February 4.

Throughout this year’s college football season ESPN has used a new Kenny Chesney song entitled “This Is Our Time” (previously reported as “This Is Our Moment”).

Chesney was inspired to start writing the song on a cocktail napkin last fall during a dinner in Nashville with play-by-play announcer Brett Musburger, football analyst Kirk Herbstreit and producer Bill Bonnell.

The single is now available for download from iTunes and Amazon MP3 for $1.29.
