Kenny Chesney will join his good friend Peyton Manning at a fundraising gala in Indianapolis next March for the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent:
Tickets to the annual event — “Celebration of Caring,” which benefits the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent — have become one of the hottest to get for Indianapolis’ social and sports-loving crowds. The black-tie gala offers guests a chance to rub elbows with Manning and his family members. Manning’s parents, Archie and Olivia, attend.
And it ought to be extra-glamorous March 4 because the party will be the opening gala for the JW Marriott, the new $450 million landmark hotel Downtown.
Chesney is expected to perform an entire concert that night, according to Wednesday’s announcement of the event’s details. No word, though, on whether the Colts quarterback will get on stage and sing a song with Chesney, as Manning has been known to do.
Bob Costas, host of NBC’s “Football Night in America,” will emcee. As usual, Manning and his wife, Ashley, are the event’s honorary chairpeople.
The event will be held March 4th. Get more information and purchase tickets at stvincent.org.
In an effort to inspire young athletes both on and off the field, Kenny Chesney is offering a free DVD copy of ‘Boys of Fall,’ his 90-minute documentary about the lasting, positive impact high school football has on players throughout their lives, to high schools and high school football coaches around the US.
In the documentary, Chesney interviews dozens of football’s most successful commentators, coaches and players, including Joe Namath, Peyton Manning, Tony Dungy and Nick Saban, but the focus of the film is truly on life lessons learned by all who participate, not just those who go on to future football success.
“Kenny played high school football, and he feels the lessons learned on the field like hard work, humility and trust are carried over into everyday life,” says Chesney’s manager Clint Higham. “He wants to help inspire future generations with the same passion he feels.”
The first 10,000 schools to mail a letter on school letterhead requesting the documentary by December 31, 2010 will receive a copy of the DVD. One DVD is available per high school. Letters should be sent to:
Chesney’s hope is that the documentary will inspire students as much as he was during his high school playing days and when he made the film, and that they take away from their playing experience lessons that helped Chesney become one of hardest working and most successful artists in music today. The DVD will be able to live on with teams or in school libraries for future generations to enjoy.
If you’d like to buy a copy of the documentary, you can get it at Walmart.com for $11.88.
Kenny Chesney jetted from L.A. Friday (where he taped the Tonight Show with Jay Leno) to Milwaukee Saturday to perform at Farm Aid 25.
“Twenty-five years you’ve been doing this,” event organizer Willie Nelson said. “We’ve had thousands of artists, millions of people who have given their time and their money for the family farmer. What have we done in 25 years? Well, we’re still here. If we had it all worked out we wouldn’t have to be here again.”
He’ll perform at Miller Park, along with Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, Jeff Tweedy, Norah Jones, Jason Mraz, Band of Horses, the BoDeans, Amos Lee and Robert Francis.
If you have DirecTV you can watch the show live in HD on The 101 Network beginning at 6pm ET/5pm CT. The show will also be broadcast on Willie Nelson’s SIRIUS XM music channel, Willie’s Place (SIRIUS channel 64 and XM channel 13), beginning at 2 pm ET/1pm CT. In addition to the entire live concert, Willie’s Place listeners will hear backstage interviews and behind-the-scenes coverage hosted by SIRIUS XM’s Dallas Wayne.

Farm Aid aims to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on their land. In 25 years they’ve raised more than $37 million to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture.
Originally scheduled to take place this Thursday, the postponed Gulf Coast concert (now scheduled for July 11th) will be without Kenny Chesney. On Tuesday night the following message went out on his twitter account:
On Monday the decision was made to postpone the July 1st concert to Sunday, July 11th. Officials worried that winds and storm surge from Tropical Storm Alex could threaten the stability of the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama where the concert is to be held. The stage, which had been going up this week, is already being taken down.

Back in April when Summer In 3D movie came out in theaters, Kenny partnered with Nature Valley to raise money for the National Parks Conservation Association.
“To me, there’s nothing better than being outside, enjoying the parks, the lakes and the oceans – and that’s what makes protecting our national parks so important,” said Kenny Chesney. “Teaming up with Nature Valley to raise awareness and funds is a great way to make sure the public realizes how special these parks are and that they can have a hand in keeping them available to generations to come.”
It was announced at the time that Kenny would film a public service announcement for the initiative. It’s now been recorded and you can watch it below:

“There are always welcome breaks in every storm, but the unfortunate reality is that this disaster is not going away for a while,” Buffett said. “But a few hours of fun, void of the constant reminders of the situation, is a good thing, and that is basically what I do.”
