Kenny Chesney has been added to an already-impressive bill for the “Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation.”

Musical acts Kenny Chesney, Juanes and K’naan have been added to a Hollywood Bowl concert Oct. 15 that also includes Lady Gaga, Usher and U2′s Bono and the Edge, according to Yahoo, which will stream the event live.

Clinton, who turned 65 on Aug. 19, celebrates the occasion Oct. 14 at a gala at the Hollywood Palladium with a featured performer yet to be announced, and the Bowl concert the next night is a fundraiser for the William J. Clinton Foundation.

“I am deeply grateful that the artists associated with the concert are giving their time and talent to raise awareness of the work of the Clinton Foundation,” said President Clinton. “In the past decade, commitments to my Clinton Global Initiative have improved the lives of more than 300 million people around the world. We’ve lowered the cost of AIDS and HIV treatment, combated climate change, strengthened economies, increased access to education and healthcare, provided financing and mentoring for small businesses. This celebration marks ten years of these efforts and demonstrates of how much we can do to make a difference in the years ahead.”

The concert will stream live at clintonconcert.yahoo.com.

Chesney Donating Proceeds of Tuscaloosa Show to Tornado Relief

On May 25th, Kenny Chesney brings the Goin’ Coastal Tour to tornado-ravaged Tuscaloosa, and it was announced today that all proceeds from the show will benefit relief efforts:

Chesney, along with his management and booking agents, are donating all of their fees to the tornado-ravaged town that is home to the University of Alabama.

The massive storm system that swept through the South two weeks ago killed more than 300 people in seven states. At least 41 were in Tuscaloosa. The April 27 tornado outbreak destroyed entire neighborhoods and left the city struggling to recover.

Chesney considered postponing the concert, but the mayor convinced him that the show would be a positive step forward for the community.

The funds will go to GiveTuscaloosa.com and will be funneled to local charities and social services.

Country Standard Time has more:

According to Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, “Thanks to the resilience and compassion of our community, the city of Tuscaloosa is in the process of healing. On this road to recovery, the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater plans to host Kenny Chesney on May 25 as scheduled. As we respond to one of the worst natural disasters in our state’s history, we refuse to let April 27 define our future, and hosting Kenny Chesney is another step forward to a new tomorrow. On behalf of the city of Tuscaloosa, I want to thank Kenny and his team for their generosity and compassion. It is the kindness of others that will carry us through as we rebuild Tuscaloosa.”

Chesney, whose 2011 ‘Goin’ Coastal’ Tour marks his return to the US stage after taking last year off, considered postponing the date, but was convinced by Maddox that the concert would be tremendously positive to the community, both emotionally and as a fundraising boon.

“When we first heard about this tragedy, we were stunned, as we have so many fans in the area and have enjoyed every visit that we’ve made there over the years,” Chesney said. “But Mayor Maddox convinced us that this is a great opportunity to bring the people of Tuscaloosa together in a positive way, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help them in this way.”

Chesney to Entertain at Peyton Manning Fundraiser Gala

Kenny Chesney will join his good friend Peyton Manning at a fundraising gala in Indianapolis next March for the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent:

Tickets to the annual event — “Celebration of Caring,” which benefits the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent — have become one of the hottest to get for Indianapolis’ social and sports-loving crowds. The black-tie gala offers guests a chance to rub elbows with Manning and his family members. Manning’s parents, Archie and Olivia, attend.

And it ought to be extra-glamorous March 4 because the party will be the opening gala for the JW Marriott, the new $450 million landmark hotel Downtown.

Chesney is expected to perform an entire concert that night, according to Wednesday’s announcement of the event’s details. No word, though, on whether the Colts quarterback will get on stage and sing a song with Chesney, as Manning has been known to do.

Bob Costas, host of NBC’s “Football Night in America,” will emcee. As usual, Manning and his wife, Ashley, are the event’s honorary chairpeople.

The event will be held March 4th. Get more information and purchase tickets at stvincent.org.

Chesney Donating 10,000 Copies of “The Boys of Fall” to High Schools

In an effort to inspire young athletes both on and off the field, Kenny Chesney is offering a free DVD copy of ‘Boys of Fall,’ his 90-minute documentary about the lasting, positive impact high school football has on players throughout their lives, to high schools and high school football coaches around the US.

In the documentary, Chesney interviews dozens of football’s most successful commentators, coaches and players, including Joe Namath, Peyton Manning, Tony Dungy and Nick Saban, but the focus of the film is truly on life lessons learned by all who participate, not just those who go on to future football success.

“Kenny played high school football, and he feels the lessons learned on the field like hard work, humility and trust are carried over into everyday life,” says Chesney’s manager Clint Higham. “He wants to help inspire future generations with the same passion he feels.”

The first 10,000 schools to mail a letter on school letterhead requesting the documentary by December 31, 2010 will receive a copy of the DVD. One DVD is available per high school. Letters should be sent to:

Kenny Chesney
P.O. Box 121895
2006 Acklen Ave
Nashville, TN 37212

Chesney’s hope is that the documentary will inspire students as much as he was during his high school playing days and when he made the film, and that they take away from their playing experience lessons that helped Chesney become one of hardest working and most successful artists in music today. The DVD will be able to live on with teams or in school libraries for future generations to enjoy.

If you’d like to buy a copy of the documentary, you can get it at Walmart.com for $11.88.

Kenny Chesney jetted from L.A. Friday (where he taped the Tonight Show with Jay Leno) to Milwaukee Saturday to perform at Farm Aid 25.

“Twenty-five years you’ve been doing this,” event organizer Willie Nelson said. “We’ve had thousands of artists, millions of people who have given their time and their money for the family farmer. What have we done in 25 years? Well, we’re still here. If we had it all worked out we wouldn’t have to be here again.”

Originally scheduled to take place this Thursday, the postponed Gulf Coast concert (now scheduled for July 11th) will be without Kenny Chesney. On Tuesday night the following message went out on his twitter account:

On Monday the decision was made to postpone the July 1st concert to Sunday, July 11th. Officials worried that winds and storm surge from Tropical Storm Alex could threaten the stability of the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama where the concert is to be held. The stage, which had been going up this week, is already being taken down.
