Kenny Chesney just wrapped up his 2018 Trip Around the Sun Tour in Boston and with those two sold out shows, he notched his biggest ever tour:

Kenny Chesney’s Trip Around the Sun Tour came to a close on Aug. 25, and with its final shows reported to Billboard Boxscore, it now stands as the country superstar’s highest grossing trek ever, earning $114.3 million. The tour, which sold 1.289 million tickets, eclipses his Big Revival Tour’s gross in a photo finish, as the 2015 tour raked in $114.1 million.

Chesney wrapped the Trip Around the Sun Tour with two sold-out shows at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Aug. 24 and 25. He played 42 shows throughout the summer, hitting arenas and stadiums throughout North America, beginning with a two-night engagement at Las Vegas’s Hard Rock Hotel.

Chesney’s final shows at Gillette Stadium delivered the biggest gross ($11.6 million) and attendance numbers (121,714) of the entire tour. It has become tradition for the country powerhouse to close out his summer tours at the New England Patriots’ home field. With the added grosses from his 2018 shows, Chesney extends his lead as the act with the venue’s all-time highest gross at $97.6 million and highest attendance number at 1.09 million. Before his final shows began, a video played featuring Patriots CEO Robert Kraft and players Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski congratulating Chesney on the 1 million milestone.

Chesney’s newly reported 2018 figures push his total career tour earnings to $969 million, with an overall attendance of 15.3 million. The latter sum is the fifth-highest among all acts in Billboard Boxscore history, dating back to 1990.

Kenny Chesney’s new album Songs for the Saints has debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart as well as number two on the all-genre Top 200 chart.

“All I knew was that I was so scared for a lot of people and places that I really loved,” said Chesney of the inspiration. “I was anxious, and I was thousands of miles away. I needed to do something, something that would let those people know they weren’t gonna be forgotten when the news cycle moved on. I had no idea it would be an album, but the songs were something they could sing. And now here we are.”

According to Nielsen, in its first week, the project has sold in excess of 64,600 copies, with consumption bringing the total to 77,300.

“This album means the world to me, because of what it’s about and what it means to the people of the Virgin Islands,” Chesney shared. “A lot of who I am is because of the time I’ve spent down there, and how it’s shaped the man I’ve become. It’s how I see the world, and how my music has evolved. So the fact No Shoes Nation has supported this record – a record where all the proceeds go to island recovery – does my heart good.”
