Goin’ Coastal in Des Moines

It’s the second weekend of the Goin’ Coastal Tour and last night saw Kenny Chesney performing to 13,000 fans at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa:

Chesney sounded a bit muted on his first two songs, “Live a Little” and “Reality,” but after a few minutes it was clear that it was because the crowd’s cheers were simply deafening. It’s been two years since the country star took his party on the road, and his fans were clearly starved for some fun.

Chesney matched the crowd’s energy, running around the stage, punching his fists in the air and belting out lyrics until he seemed to lose his breath. He asked the crowd how many years it had been since he last played Des Moines (two), then said, “I can already tell it’s been two too long.”

The tour continues tonight in St. Paul, Minnesota, then on to Omaha on Saturday night.

Josh- did you get the set list?? Someone commented that he added some other songs not done in Tampa or WPB…Out Last NIght and You Save Me.

i had so much fun last night my Daughter was so excited that you noticed her poster that said Happy birthday to you she wont stop telling people. but she was asking why she couldn’t meet you she was pretty down when i told her y. maybe next time. we never know. you are my all time favorite person to see no matter were you are here in iowa or somewhere close every year we will make sure we are there as close as we can get to you and thats a promise.. Oh yeah my 9yr old had so much fun last night that she wants to go again. im thinking im going to make it our mother daughter night. C you next year.
