In the November issue of People Magazine, Kenny Chesney reveals ten songs that have changed his life:
1. JOHN MELLENCAMP – SMALL TOWN
This song is a perfect description of how I grew up, the dreams I had back then and the values that shaped my life.
2. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN – BORN TO RUN
This song is all about freedom. It reminds me so much of the freedom I felt my first couple years on the road. We had 14 people on a 12-bunk bus, and I didn’t think it could get any better.
3. BOB MARLEY – STIR IT UP
I have spent a ton of great days at sea watching sunsets to this song. No matter where I am in the world, when I hear this song, I am in that place.
4. THE EAGLES – TAKE IT EASY
It’s funny now that I live this song how I understand every struggling, conflicted emotion of it. As a kid I had no idea what it meant; I just knew I loved it! But now it is scary familiar, true to my life.
There’s another round of Kenny Chesney tickets going on sale in the next couple of days. If you haven’t already purchased through the Fan Club or other presales, get your tickets when they go on sale to the general public.
More dates will be announced soon. Kenny has previously said that he’ll play around 60 shows next year, so this is just a portion of the dates. View all of the announced shows on our tour dates page.
Kenny Chesney will join his good friend Peyton Manning at a fundraising gala in Indianapolis next March for the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent:
Tickets to the annual event — “Celebration of Caring,” which benefits the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent — have become one of the hottest to get for Indianapolis’ social and sports-loving crowds. The black-tie gala offers guests a chance to rub elbows with Manning and his family members. Manning’s parents, Archie and Olivia, attend.
And it ought to be extra-glamorous March 4 because the party will be the opening gala for the JW Marriott, the new $450 million landmark hotel Downtown.
Chesney is expected to perform an entire concert that night, according to Wednesday’s announcement of the event’s details. No word, though, on whether the Colts quarterback will get on stage and sing a song with Chesney, as Manning has been known to do.
Bob Costas, host of NBC’s “Football Night in America,” will emcee. As usual, Manning and his wife, Ashley, are the event’s honorary chairpeople.
The event will be held March 4th. Get more information and purchase tickets at stvincent.org.
