Campaign Brewing for Chesney as Next Year's Super Bowl Halftime Performer

There’s a grassroots campaign brewing to get Kenny Chesney as next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performer. Kenny Jay, a Wisconsin radio DJ has started a Facebook group entitled Kenny Chesney for Superbowl 2011 that lists as its mission:

“Superbowl halftime shows have been boring the last few years … show your support as we petition the NFL to put KENNY CHESNEY on the Superbowl halftime show in 2011. Invite your friends!”

In an interview last week with Mike & Mike on ESPN, Chesney said “I would love to do halftime at the Super Bowl. That’d be fun.” Listen to the interview here.

    I think he would rock the Super Bowl. But do you think starting a facebook group page is the best answer? I would find out who is in charge of the half time entertainment for the event. Then flood that office with Chesney requests.

    I’m guessing all Kenny has to do is ask and they’ll let him. Would easily be better than the WHO.

    Ryan, it’s quite amazing the coverage the DJ has gotten from just a Facebook group. You’re right, it’ll take more than a FB group.

    For someone who has sold the most concert tickets EVER, it would be a natural decision to have Kenny! I hope so!!!!

    The Superbowl in in Arlington Texas….Kenny would be awesome to watch at halftime or anytime as far as that goes…

    The push started on Facebook. There are several groups going strong. The one I’ve been pushing is “Kenny for Super Bowl 44″ We are up to 130 members and climbing.

    I hit the Kenny fanclub sight pretty hard hoping to get more fans to join.
    We are also sending e-mails to the NFL!

    Lets get Kenny to do the show!
