After playing a show there last April, Kenny Chesney will return to The Joint at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas this year for two shows in May and two shows in July.

The show last April was one of the highest-energy and longest shows of the year for Chesney. He played his normal set and then 17 more cover songs! View the incredible set list here. Will fans get the same high caliber shows when Kenny returns on May 14th & 15th and July 2nd & 3rd?

“Obviously we like to play,” Chesney laughs about his band. “The beauty of the Joint is that not only is it a great rock and roll room, but they’ll let us get up there and play… and play… and play. We have so much fun, because we can throw in all kinds of stuff we don’t get to play in our regular show, and the audiences are diverse enough that no matter what we throw at them, they know the songs!”

“That’s what so great about a gig where the capacity is under 4000, especially at the Joint,” Chesney enthuses. “It’s the best of both worlds: you get the energy of a club, but it’s still enough of a stage that there’s room to run around and have fun! Because when we do these smaller, less structured shows, we like to let loose without tripping over each other or getting tangled in someone’s chord.”

Update – Tickets will go on sale Saturday, January 30th at noon through TicketMaster.

There will be a presale beginning Thursday at 10 am PT through TicketMaster. We’ll share the password when we get it (Please e-Mail it to us if you know it).

The Fan Club Presale will begin Tuesday, January 26th at Noon PT. Go to to get your tickets or to join the fan club.

Chesney Attends Saints – Vikings Game

Both Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffett are good friends with New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton. Good enough friends that the coach invited them to sit in the press box at Sunday night’s NFC Championship game against Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings in New Orleans.

The Saints won in overtime 31-28 with a 40-yard field goal from Garrett Hartley. They advance to face Peyton Manning (another friend of Kenny’s) and the Indianapolis Colts at the Super Bowl in Miami on February 7th.

In 2007 and 2008, Sean Payton invited Kenny to work out with the Saints at preseason training camp. The Saints missed the playoffs both years, and before this season Payton jokingly told Kenny to stay away this year. With the way the Saints are rolling, Kenny may not get an invite next year either.

No Shoes Radio will broadcast live at the “Hooters Super Pool Party” in during Super Bowl week. More details will be announced soon.

Kenny Releasing “Ain’t Back Yet” from Summer In 3D

posted January 21st, 2010 at 9:57 pm

by Josh Martn

The end theme for Kenny Chesney’s upcoming “Summer In 3D” movie is being released to radio on February 8th. “Ain’t Back Yet,” written by Craig Wiseman and Chris Tompkins, is “pretty much everything about what happened to me, especially with the music,” says Chesney.

“You get so focused on what you’re trying to accomplish, it takes over… and there’s nothing that’s going to come between you and your dream. For some people, it’s sports; for me, it was the music. You know, there’s a price you pay to do this, but look at what this is…

“Or as the bridge [of the song] goes, ‘Lookin’ back at the moments, black and white/ I wouldn’t change a thing that changed my life/ For the worse, for the better, man, I was gone, gone forever… The laughs, the smiles, the trails, the tears/ It’s hard to hate what got me here…’ Pretty much sums it up.”

Kenny has recently been in L.A. doing voiceovers and overseeing final production for “Summer In 3D” and his excitement for the project is very evident.

“To see that kind of passion… To be able to really see those faces where I can just stand there and take it all in… Now that is something I don’t see very much, and I go to a lot of shows, and watch a lot of crowds, but the folks who come out for us, well, it’s something I can’t explain, but I can’t wait for the fans to get to see themselves, to get to see what me and the guys get to see every night! It’s cool.”

“Anyone who knows me knows I’m not afraid of the work – and I very much care about the quality of what I do,’ he says. ‘Some things are harder than others. Some things take more time. But honestly, I can’t think of very many things I’ve been as fired up about finishing and getting out to the fans. The places these cameras go, the way the songs and the people are captured. This truly is closer than you can get with a ticket, but it’s also the chance to see things from a perspective that’s not just mine, but where none of us could ever go.”

“Summer In 3D” will hit theaters April 21st.

Kenny Chesney’s No Shoes Radio has been running on cruise control the last couple of months, but the NSR crew are planning their first live event of the year at the Super Bowl!

The following short message was posted earlier today on the No Shoes Radio Facebook page:

We’ll be broadcasting live from the “Hooters Super Pool Party” in Miami during Super Bowl week! More details to come — stay tuned!

Kenny Chesney is a big football fan. He worked out with the New Orleans Saints at preseason training camp in 2007 and 2008. The Saints missed the playoffs both years, and before this season New Orleans coach Sean Payton jokingly told Kenny to stay away this year. Perhaps it paid off though… the Saints face Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game next week.

“This Is Our Time” Hits The Radio Waves

The song that was used by ESPN College Game Day last fall is Kenny Chesney’s new single for country radio. “This Is Our Time” debuted at number 50 this week on the Billboard Country Songs Chart.

There were only two other new songs to hit the chart: Colt Ford’s “Cold Beer,” featuring Jamey Johnson at number 59, and Luke Bryan’s “Rain Is a Good Thing” at number 60. At number one is Reba McEntire’s “Consider Me Gone.”

Chesney was inspired to start writing the song on a cocktail napkin last fall during a dinner in Nashville with play-by-play announcer Brett Musburger, football analyst Kirk Herbstreit and producer Bill Bonnell. Chesney was a guest on ESPN’s College Game Day telecast from Vanderbilt during their game against Auburn last year.

The song was used as an opening tease, as the networks went in and out of commercial breaks, and for promotions of upcoming programs and show elements across ABC and across ESPN platforms.

Download “This Is Our Time” at iTunes or AmazonMP3. You can also listen to it on Kenny’s MySpace.

Have you heard it yet on your local station?
