The Seattle Times has a review of Kenny Chesney’s show on Saturday at Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington. The show also featured Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, and Sugarland.

Chesney is a solid entertainer — a top earner on the tour circuit. He treated fans who filled three-quarters of Qwest Field to more than 20 tunes over the course of nearly two hours.

The singer-songwriter is at his best when he breaks it down a little, and goes nearly acoustic. Halfway through the set, he brought country legend Mac McAnally to the forefront for “Down the Road,” a sweet country tune about falling in love and a parent’s worry that the beloved is the right one for their kin. The sight of five guys — including Chesney — on guitars just made the tune and a few subsequent ones, including “Me and You,” authentic. Plus it’s the perfect way to hear Chesney’s smooth, easy and, OK, even sexy country voice.

One of the comments after the review…….I keep hearing from people who go to the stadium shows UNless you are up near Sandbar the sounds sucks!! Sandbar is just really loud…I wonder DOES Kenny know this? I would imagaine Ed Wanebo who while with Van Halen did many stadium shows and the sound would have been good.
I will say most ‘rock acts’ I see in stadiums the sound is not great…..much better in a smaller venue.

“Partner” You are’nt alone in what you heard to the untrained ear Kenny sounds “great” however his sound system has been terrible for years, and no one in his circle will tell him the truth… It’s either rental equipment at each venue or he is just loyal to the guys who make the system.. My wife a TEXAN, and I, a Native Southern California Man (From the days we had ranches and farming here) stopped seeing Kenny in concert due to what you said, and we’ve been in the high section of Staples center, and an open air stadium 8 rows back front and center, same result, really bad. Now if you want to hear a truly crystal clear sound system, see Brad Paisley. He’s dialed in from the start. The warm up bands are clear too. Kennys cd’s are the way to go if you want to hear him, but skip the shows, there disappointing. Lambert is a B-i t- c_h why do you think she sings the songs she does… an abused girl who got famous hmmmm to much access to a mic. and a hateful attitude are’nt a good mix.

Vicki…….you misread or misunderstood the point I was trying to make and my question.
I was asking (since I keep hearing the same comments) that the sound in the atadiums is not good at Kenny shows.
I understand that Kenny’s tour manager worked with Van Halen who did stadiums.
I was just asking has Kenny identified the problem at the stadiums and it is fixable.
I have heard in an open air stadium there is no place for the sound to bounce off and that is why the sound is really not the best.
With so many ROCK acts playing these stadiums like Kenny, would think he has many other tour managers he could get info about how their sound systems work in those venues.
I know I have seen Springsteen and Bon Jovi and U2 and many others at the Meadowlands and sound was not bad at all Kenny does not play there
At Staples center in Los Angeles it was horrible. I had heard that is why Bruce will not play there

    I meant is it fixable?

Haha, Brad? Over Kenny???? You must have had too much to drink. I have seen them both, and while Brad is good, it isn’t anything in comparison with the good show quality of kenny’s. I sugguest if your so against the stadiums, you see him at the amphitheatres.
