New Video For “I’m Alive” Nearly Done

The video for Kenny Chesney’s latest single “I’m Alive” is nearing completion, and it includes a lot of footage from this year’s tour.

“You know the song is about recognizing that no matter what happens, you’re still here,” Chesney says, “and that’s a good thing. It’s easy as the lyric says to say that life is hard, but the other side of that is being willing to admit that life isn’t one continuous party. You have to take moments to reflect, to look at where you’ve been, where you’re going, to find new dreams. I wanted this video to reflect that.”

Much of the footage for the video was taken at the NFL stadium shows, but also some clips will be from the smaller keg shows that were played before the official start of the tour. Black and white photos of Chesney and Dave Matthews will be incorporated into the video.

“Shaun (Silva) and his guys have really been shooting this tour, but beyond the obvious stuff, they’ve been trying to capture who I am when I’m not on that stage or meeting people,” explains Chesney. “And there are a lot of times out there where I am thinking about all that’s happened, how we got here and what this music means, not just to me because to me it’s my life, but to the unbelievable fans who come out… how they get through stuff in their lives through these songs.”

“Somebody said to me that it’s been a long time since anyone’s seen my soul in one of these clips,” Chesney states. “And you know, they may be right… because you get so caught up in the energy, in the show, in the good times of these songs, why would you go there. But for this song, well, it just seemed like the right thing to do, and Shaun and his guys really captured the essence of who I am.”

No word yet on when the video will debut but with the single already climbing the charts, it should be soon.

Kenny Chesney performed at the New York State Fair in Syracuse on Friday night to nearly 16,000 fans. has a review of the show: “It’s a good time in the rain with Kenny Chesney at the New York State Fair Grandstand”

Right after he had the almost-capacity crowd of about 16,000 swaying to his feel-good summer song “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem,” country music star Kenny Chesney shared an honest-as-it gets moment with the fans at the state fair’s Mohegan Sun Grandstand on Friday night.

“Anybody who watches TV knows that the whole world has problems,” Chesney said. “Serious ones. We ain’t going to solve a single one of them tonight.”

No, it was a night for singing along in the rain to songs that Chesney’s delivered to the world to see them rocket to the top of the country charts.

The moment he took the stage, Chesney took the familiar pose that’s worked its way into hearts and minds. Blue-jeaned legs apart. Sleeveless arms around the microphone. Bent-side-brimmed cowboy hat perched on his head.

And that distinctive voice of his rode a tasty wave put out by his 11-piece band.
