Listening to Kenny Chesney talk about it, you can tell that the Frisco, Texas show that was weathered out two weeks ago already holds a special place in his heart.

“When the fans saw that I was gonna come out there with them, they came forward to us, too,” Chesney says of the night. “They wanted it as bad as I did… to share that moment, the songs, the whole thing… and I can’t tell you what that feeling was like, but I can tell you, I’ll never forget it. It’s part of the reason I want to go back and do it again: because I wanna finish what we started.”

Chesney said that it was the worst weather that he’s ever played in. He lost several hundred thousand dollars worth of equipment and is paying the costs to restage the makeup show on Sunday.

“When I saw the pictures of us onstage, it was pretty powerful in terms of the image,” says the man who sang for almost 50 minutes. “And looking at all of them, thinking about standing onstage with all those fans who right up there with us and singing ‘There’s Something Sexy About The Rain’ – and it really felt like that in spite of the downpour – I could totally feel it again. I figured they would, too so it was ‘How do we go about giving them something that’ll capture that? Take them back to the moment?’”

A special commemorative t-shirt will be available at Sunday’s makeup show. It is basic black and features one of the photos of Chesney in the storm. It will be imprinted with the words “There’s Something Sexy About The Rain,” the date of the show and the city.

Oh my gosh! Myself and 4 others flew from upstate New York to Dallas to see Kenny Chesney @ Pizza Hut Park on May 2nd. While our tailgate party was a complete washout, we stuck it out! We stood for hours in the rain waiting to see the fate of the concert — cancelled? or still on? We loved every single minute of the crazy, wet and rocking show!! Unfortunately, since we live so far away, attending the make up concert today, May 17th was not an option for us. We are so sad. WE WOULD LIKE A COMMEMORATIVE TSHIRT. We were there, we bonded and we are huge fans. Is there any way (besides being at the make up concert today) to get a tshirt?? Please respond.
