"Out Last Night" Video Will Debut Friday

The music video for Kenny Chesney’s latest single “Out Last Night” will debut on his MySpace page this Friday.

“It seems to be that Myspace.com is what FM radio was when it took hold,” Chesney says of the inspiration for the somewhat unexpected decision to debut one of his videos online. “Back when, it seemed like all the new music, all the stuff you’d want to discover was on FM radio stations where the total music junkies were hanging out – waiting to see what’s next.”

“I know a lot of my fans are using social networking as a way to stay connected, to communicate with each other, to check out music and swamp bands,” Chesney said, “and it’s a pretty exciting thing to get out there where you can feel the fans. It’s straight into their hands – and having the greatest fans in the world, this seemed like a way to give them the clip when they want it, where they want it.”

“From video to video, we really try to capture the song’s feeling,” said Chesney. “If you can capture a song’s vibe in the video, then I think you’ve served the songwriters, the singer, but especially the fans. Because everyone has their personal movie of what a song should be – and you don’t want to ruin that. But I’d say with Out Last Night, Shaun captured a night that everybody would want to be a part of.”

The video was shot on location in Miami in March.

Country Standard Time reports that Kenny Chesney will tape an episode of “Austin City Limits” on May 12th that will air in the Fall on PBS:

“There is so much history when you look back at the artists who’ve played ‘Austin City Lim its’ over the years,” said Chesney. “If you wanna know about American music, about Texas music, about music that comes out of the South – whether it’s the Allman Brothers and Widespread Panic – or songwriters like Jackson Browne and John Prine, Western swing like Asleep at the Wheel or classic country like Merle Haggard, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette… that’s the place you go.”

“And with everything I’ve been able to do in my career, it’s still an incredible honor to be asked to do ‘Austin City Limits.’ That’s a whole other kind of music show…”

Review of Kenny at The Stagecoach Music Festival

Kenny Chesney closed out the Stagecoach Music Festival on Sunday night in Indo, California. The Desert Sun has a review of Kenny’s set: “Chesney ends Stagecoach on an upbeat”

Kenny Chesney’s set started a bit late at about 9:40 p.m., but for the next hour and 40 minutes, he kept the crowd on their feet.

When the first lines for the video of “Key in the Conch Shell” began playing, the crowd of about 60,000 (or so) was waiting for the muscle-shirt clothed singer.

That was just a video commercial for the Sun City Carnival Tour Chesney is doing this summer.

The crowd only had to wait a few minutes before Chesney bounded onto the stage and began the 20 song set with “Live Those Songs,” a tribute to the music Chesney, and many in the audience, grew up to.

He ramped up the energy with the bouncy “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,” which brought screams from the women in the audience. It was obvious, they thought the singer was sexier.
