Kenny Chesney’s new album “Lucky Old Sun” will hit stores October 14th:

“I’ve come to a place in my life where there are songs that want to be written and that I really want to sing,” he told Billboard. “We didn’t think the record would be ready until next year, but the music we’ve been making is so inspiring. We’ve been on a real creative jag.”

Kenny had gotten into a prolonged funk after his marriage to Rene Zellweger was annulled, but he went through a personal renewal while producing Willie Nelson’s album, Moment Of Forever, and is populating the new CD mostly with self-penned material. The title track is actually a duet with Willie, and the album naturally includes Kenny’s latest single, “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven,” which is currently at No. 13 on the Country Aircheck singles chart.

Also, fans can buy the deluxe pack that contains a second disc with live tracks from Massachusetts and Key West:

“Thankfully, the record label totally gets that my hardcore fans are so much a part of this, and that it’s something they may want… beyond our studio release. So, they’re allowing me to do a first week deluxe CD that will have Boston (a song Chesney wrote with his tour production assistant Mark Tamburino) and Got A Little Crazy from our Boston show and Soul of a Sailor and Guitars And Tiki Bars from the Hogs Breath’ as something a little extra.”
